When and where should you have your scan?

I’ve found out I’m pregnant again after an ectopic at 9 weeks last October that ruptured my left tube. I’m currently 5 weeks.

I was told at the time to call the epu as soon as I was pregnant again to check if it was in the right place. However, when I called them earlier this week they said I could only attend if I was bleeding and would need to contact my GP. The GP practice then booked me in with the midwife to register the pregnancy. The midwife seemed unsure of the process when I explained but rang the epu and found they needed a GP to refer me to it and it couldn’t be until I was 6 weeks to ensure it was big enough to see on a scan.

I’ve now had an ultrasound appt through for 29th March where I will be just over 7 weeks. It is directly with the ultrasound department rather than through the epu, does this seem right? I’m worried it’s leaving it longer than 6 weeks but I’m quite limited on days as I want my husband there and can only go when he’s off work. Also due to it being an afternoon appt if they find its ectopic I’ve not gone through the epu and I won’t be able to go to it as its only open mornings.

I just feel the standard process for being pregnant after ectopic is unclear and wanted to check if this is similar to what happened to everyone else? It’s also going to feel like a long few weeks until I have the scan!

me too. I have had a check up by gynae at a and e, but unless bleeding or severe pain my scan has not been booked yet. I had 48 hr bloods last week and am waiting on bloods tomorrow and EPAU have said they will ring me with my results. xxx

Good luck for your results tomorrow!
