I have just found out I am pregnant again after I had a ruptured ectopic in February this year, which left me & my hubby devastated, I had life saving sugery blood transfusion horrible! Obviously we are so happy that I’m pregnant again but also so scared! Does anyone know when I can have a scan? & also feeling the same anxious feelings as me Thanks xxx

I’d get in touch with your local EPU as soon as possible to be seen for blood tests and scan.
After my EP, my surgeon told me that when I would next fall pregnant, it was essential I had a scan before 7 weeks, preferably 6, and to contact my EPU directly without waiting for a GP referral. Do check with your hospital but they usually accept self-referral, especially when you have a history of EP.

Yes definitely call Am… I had this last week, I waited for my docs to open on Monday AM and he referred me for a scan ties 11th but after feeling anxious I then contacted EPU direct and they got me in on sat! In my experience so far… They do look after you second time! Good luck

Had my scan this morning and am so happy & relieved to say it’s in the right place! 
we are going back in 2 weeks to see the heartbeat as I’m only 5 weeks. Just so relieved the 1st hurdle is over… Just a few weeks to wait u nail nxt scan xxx

Can I ask how different this pregnancy feels to your ectopic at the moment? I had an ectopic and am now 5 weeks pregnant again but don’t know if what I’m feeling now is normal or not? Xxx

Hi Nicola congratulations to you I did feel a lot different this time round firstly I didn’t come on my period when it was due, with the ectopic I still had a period. My boobs are more sensitive & bigger already they stayed exactly the same last time, I also have felt very sick pretty much after I found out where as before I only felt sick when I was about 7 weeks. So lots of differences than the ectopic. How r you feeling have you booked in for a early scan? Xxx
Thank you for your response my 6 week scan will be on 1st September. I’m terrified - I only have my left tube remaining and have discomfort / off feelings on my left hand side so am worried that it’s another ectopic. Although I haven’t had awful pain, bloating or bleeding yet which I did have last time…
I know it’s easy for me to say, but please don’t worry I’m sure everything will be fine this time you’ve had no bleeding etc which is all positive signs. I know it’s a long time to wait but it will fly by. Will be thinking of you let me know how it goes. I’ve got my 2nd scan on the 1st too will keep you posted. Sending you lots of luck xxx

Joseph 13… I had to wait 10 days between seeing pregnancy in right place and seeing the heartbeat… It was amazing! It didn’t worry me too much when I didn’t see the heartbeat as I was really early like u so I hope u enjoy worry! I saw HB at 6 weeks 6 days! Fingers crossed x
Had a 5 week scan today and it is in the right place! Phew. Just have to wait 2 more weeks now to see for heart beat. I have everything crossed! Thanks for all your help
