So I found out 2 days ago I’m pregnant again after a ectopic in August with my right tube removed and a miscarriage in September 5 weeks after surgery. This sounds silly but I’m ok about it for now I phoned my doctor who re referred me to the EPU and I have an early scan booked for December 2nd but I am over thinking every little ache or pain I’m trying to just forget about it for now because the scan seems like an age away but I sneezed and my lower abdomen hurt like a sharp pain so I googled it and my partner said you aren’t googling it are you I said no but still looked it up just to see if I was being silly lol I think I’m just trying not to worry as much because I did when I had my miscarriage and there wasn’t anything I could do so I’m trying to just go day by day me and my partner have agreed to spend money on the clear blue tests with weeks indicator so we can see if it goes up because I’ve only ever had pregnant 1-2 weeks so we agreed it would give us some comfort if it goes up to 2-3 or 3+ sounds silly but I thought if it goes up then at least I know my hcg is going up Im thinking of asking for the blood tests to doubly check but with the scan a week and a half away I was just looking for some support with other women going through this and tips to make the days go faster lol
Dear Georginad,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,
After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I also felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have a friend here who understands how you are feeling.
I wish I could give you hints and tips on how to pass the time, try to keep yourself as busy as you can.
Sending much love and positive thoughts,
Karen x

I had my scan moved up to the 25th November because I had some twinges and sharp pains and just wanted to make sure everything is ok so rang the doh and they said they can see me in Wednesday so I’m going for my early scan tomorrow for now I’m trying to keep my mind off it as much as possible.
The early pregnancy unit not the doh lol
Dear Georginad,
Sending positive thoughts and will be thinking of you tomorrow.

Hi guys so thought I would update you had my first scan and they couldn’t see anything so had to have my hormones monitored then had a second scan a week later and they saw a sac in the right place I have to go back for another scan just to check for a heartbeat well I’m so excited to say there’s a little bean with a heartbeat we are 7weeks and 2 days along and we couldn’t be happier had extremely bad morning sickness and migraines that go along with pregnancy just waiting for our dates for all our hospital appointments to come through
Dear Georginad,
This is such brilliant news. The exact same thing happened to me. It’s great to have a positive outcome and I hope the rest of your pregnancy runs smoothly.
Sending much love,

Thought I would post an update in now 11 weeks pregnant and it’s been a hard pregnancy with severe morning sickness to the point I had to call the doctor and they prescribed me anti nausea medication. I just wanted to post on here because I woke up this morning with very slight spotting only when I wipe sorry for tmi I know it can be normal but I’m crapping myself after my miscarriage. It’s not sufficient enough to go to a&e because it’s literally like a slight discolouration on the toilet paper but I know it’s there and now I know it’s there I can’t shake the feeling there’s something wrong
Hello. I’m really sorry to hear about the blood. I suppose you should call the EPU, although I know where I am you can only do that in the morning. As you say it could all be normal, but at 11 weeks I wouldn’t ignore it. Do you still have pregnancy symptoms? Like the morning sickness? I know before my miscarriage at 12 weeks my pregnancy symptoms had stopped in the preceding week.
Dear Georginad,
I am sorry about the worrying time you are going through.
I would suggest calling your EPU or if they won’t accept direct referral, calling your GP who will be able to refer you.
Sadly I do have to advise A&E with any heavy bleeding.
I am truly hoping this is nothing to worry abouts some ladies do spot in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy pregnancies.
Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Thank you guys I’m going to ring the EPU in the morning (they are only open certain times) I’m hoping because I had an early scan with them they might see me if not looks like I’ll have to ring the gp and get re referred. Fingers crossed it’s nothing and all is ok
Just thought I would post an update I phoned the epu and they booked me in for a scan which I had this morning and everything is ok baby is 12 weeks and happily moving and kicking away the spotting may have been caused by straining to go to the toilet but everything looks good and we have our proper 12 week scan next week on the 28th January thank you for all your advice and support
Dear Georginad,
That is such great news, thank you for taking the time to.post and Keep us updated. You really will bring hope to do many women who experience similar symptoms.
Wishing you a smooth remainder of your pregnancy and sending much love,
Karen x
