Pregnant after Ectopic but having pain

Hi

I have had a trying few months, I found out I was pregnant in July 2014 which unfortunately turned out to be ectopic in my left tube. My tube was removed and the pregnancy obviously ended. The surgeon said that he had checked my right tube and it looked healthy so did not forsee any future problems. I fell pregnant again in October 2014 which ended in a miscarriage at just over 6 weeks. I then rather unexpectedly found out I was pregnant again just before Christmas. As I did not have a period after my miscarriage I am unsure as to how far gone I am but I think its about 6/7 weeks. I have been trying to get an appointment for an early scan at the EPU but the earliest is the 8th Jan so I am going to the walk in clinic hopefully tomorrow. For the past couple of days I have been feeling some strange sensations, like a dull pain, in my right side, even as far down into my bum, and I am really nervous that it is another ectopic. I have had nos potting/bleeding this time however which is what alerted me to the previous ectopic.

I know its a wating game and that the scan will tell me whether or not it is ectopic but I wondered if anyone else has had this kind of discomfort/pain and everything turn out ok?

Thanks for reading

I’m so sorry to hear of your losses! I’ve recently been through an EP myself, but am pretty early in the recovery period. Try not to assume the worst… I know it’s hard after what we’ve been through, but I’ve read of quite a few ladies having these types of sensations and often it’s from scar tissue from the previous surgery. It’s also normal to have some of these kinds of pains from implantation, etc. Let us know if you get in for an earlier scan and how things go!

All the best!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I will lwt you know how I get on, hoping to go to the EPU tomorrow afternoon.

Hi! I had my early scan today and I was lucky enough to see a little bean with a heartbeat, in the right place! Its been the most stressful and agonising few weeks but hopefully I can relax now and enjoy being pregnant. I don’t think anyone who has not suffered an EP can truly understand the physical and emotional pain it brings but I hope that this brings some reassurance to others who may be in the same situation.

That’s great news, so happy for you!! How far along are you?

Hi, Thank you for your congratulations. I am 7 weeks 6 days. Which means I must have ovulated straight after my miscarriage. The doctor was very surprised and was quite sceptical at the beginning, I think she thought my pregnancy was left over from the MC.
