Hi all so i had an ectopic pregnancy in november 2015 and had to have the pregnancy and right tube removed . I had 2 normal periods one in december and one exactly 27 days later at the begining of january . I was due my period yesterday but it never showed up after thinking for a little while it hit me that i could be pregnant as id had alot of symptoms but beeb to busy to notice them!! This morning i did a test and it was a faint positive . Ive rung my EPU and they have booked me for a scan on the 23rd feb when i wll be around 7 weeks . Now im slightly worried as my ectopic had started to rupture at 6w 2 days . Im having period cramos in my lower tummy and in my back on and off nothing major and no bleeding yet thank god!! But im concerned that if it is another ectopic and its left till 7 weeks i may loose my other tube. I have 4 children all girls and we would really love a little boy neither pregnancy was planned infact i didnt know i was pregnant with the ectopic till the day before i had surgery to remove it. Im scared these pains are because its ectopic granted they are nowhere near as painfull as the ectopic paind were but im only just 4 weeks pregnant so i guess the pains wouldnt be so bad at this point . I just dont know what to do or think . The only thing i have noticed is if i stand up too quickly i get really bad stitch/pulling type pain in the middle of my lower tummy just above my pubic bone. Has anyone got pregnant a few months after an ectopic pregnancy and its been a normal pregnancy? Did u have any pains? Like i said my pains are in the middle of my tummy like cramps on and off not on the sides where i felt the ectopic pregnancy . Its going to be a long few weeks till i have the scan…xx
Hiya!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!
No real advice but I’m kind of in the same boat. I had my ectopic in September and right tube removed.
I’m now only 4+3 and EPU have said I have to be referred by my GP and she is on holiday until the 9th!
Like you though I’m wondering if 7 weeks will be too late!?
Apart from the bleeding I had no signs last time, no pain… Nothing which is why I’m scared!
Last night I felt shooting pains on my left side which were freaking me out but the I don’t know if it’s also normal in pregnancy!
I’m tempted to book a private scan at 6 weeks but then why should I when EPU assured me they would look after me when the time came! I feel like they don’t want to know at the moment X
Congratulations its a scary time. I was due on the 1st feb so 2 dayd late now got a faint line yesterday morning but this morning got a darker line . I did manage to get the EPU to change the date to the 15th feb which will make me 6 weeks but it took alot of argueing ( get the they are fed up with me already) . But i was told that if/ when i got pregnant in the future i would need to have a scan at 5 weeks to check where it was i even spoke to the same lady at the EPU who told me this!!! Im having no symptoms yet no bleeding still , No pain in bum , no1 sided tummy& back pain they were all the symptoms i had with the ectopic wm. I do however have some symptoms i had with my 4 children im stupidly hungry to the point im nearly eating all day long. Slight cramps in lower tummy on and off , Exhausted & just want to sleep , boobs are veiny not sore my boobs have never been sore in any of my pregnancys weirdly lol… Feeling sicky And if i move too quick or stand up i get a stitch like pain in my lower tummy thats those symptoms are giving me hope this is hopefully in the right place as i had all of them with my 4 pregnancys but not with the ectopic . I hope you get yourself sorted i would push the EPU if i was u they have a duty of care to keep an eye on us and if god forbid it turned into anothet ectopic and they refused to see us early and we then lost our remaining tube i would take it far and beyond . Do u have any symptoms?? x
Hi, just wanted to jump in on this as I’m in the same position!!
Had my left tube removed in December had one period and found out yesterday I’m pregnant. My gp has doing to go back 24th Feb when I’ll be 6 weeks and she will refer me for a scan. I agree with you they don’t seem to bothered and would do any blood tests - I’ve read some people are given then to check the hcg is rising normally.
Anyway I’ve had a few mild stabby type pains in my left side where I have no tube!! I’m so scared waiting is horrible xx
So glad I came across this forum.
I had my right tube removed January 2015 and this month I found out I was pregnant (now 4 weeks and 5 days). I don’t have my scan until 18th of February which seems forever away!!
Anyway the reason I came on is because I have lower back pain (not severe but a dull ache) and have had some stomach pain but nothing severe and the area of it varies it’s not just specific to one side so was just seeing if anyone else has had this. I have been assured this is normal in pregnancy, but I can’t help worrying due to the past ectopic. I have other pregnancy symptoms which I hope is a good sign. But not letting myself get excited until I know the location of baby.
Best wishes to you all
X

I’m just curious I had my ectopic pregnancy in Nov. 2015 and iv been on birth control I was told I shouldn’t try again til June hoping the best for u add me and keep me updated
Ur guys support and advice keeps me hopeful
Hello,
Hope your well. Aw thank you. Well I had mine in January 2015 and was advised to wait until April (3 months). It has taken 10 months to fall pregnant again and when we thought it was never going to happen it did and I was totally surprised as I had began to give up hope. So just now we are praying that it’s not another ectopic. These posts also kept me hopeful hearing about other people conceiving when I was at an all time low. If you have any questions feel free to ask me And best of luck to you when the time comes to try. Il keep you posted x
Hi,
Just thought I would come back and let you’s know that I had my early scan and everything is looking how it should be It’s such a relief to know that any pains I’ve felt haven’t been due to another ectopic. We are over the moon. Best of luck ladies and please don’t give up hope xx
Hi lindsay,
Great to hear it’s in the right place and that the pains are not for an ectopic! Gives me hope x
