Feeling lost

I have never wrote on these forms but in Nov I had an ectopic and lost my left tube - I turned here to find comfort in not being alone and following success stories… I found myself pregnant in March and there were a mix of emotions- excited, nervous, anxious… I went for tests and everything came back fine the baby made it to the right spot! Unfortunately I suffered a miscarriage last Monday and I just feel completely lost, devestated, sad and angry. I know I should be greatful as I have two beautiful children who mean everything to me but me and my husband really want to expand our family and it just seems hopeless at the moment… just seeing if anyone else has experienced something similar and how you held on to hope.

Thanks xo

Hi,

I am so sorry this has happened to you; it’s incredibly difficult - I can only hope you find the strength to regroup and when you feel ready and able, to try again (of course, if that’s what feels right for you).

I had an ectopic pregnancy that was removed along with my left tube, 4 days ago. I also had a miscarriage end of last year. I have a 2.5yr old that I am incredibly grateful to have but like you we want to add to our family and give our child a sibling.

I feel incredibly sad and raw about what happened a few days ago. It’s hard to comprehend that I walked into hospital pregnant and walked out not pregnant with my left tube taken out.

Lots of love and strength to you, seek support from your loved ones and professionals if you need to (which I am going to do). Give yourself time and love to heal - hang in there.

Dear Asilv17 and woolens35,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses, to experience one loss is difficult, to deal with multiple losses is heartbreaking and my heart truly goes out to you both.

We do hear from many women who have successful pregnancies following multiple losses so please do not give up hope.

For now, be kind to yourselves. Your feelings are completely normal, so allow time to grieve, to heal both physically and emotionally.

We will be here for you both for as long as you need.

Sending much love and warm hugs,

Karen x
