I had surgical management 6 weeks ago. Last week I took a pregnancy test and it’s positive. I’ve not had my cycle yet and me and hubby had intercourse at 2 and 4 weeks after operation. I’ve tested positive all week and again today.
Could I be pregnant again or is it dropping hormone levels? Worried sick.
Dear Law_laws,
I’m so sorry to hear that you are going through such a worrying time. It does take a while for your cycle to return to normal, and it may be different, after a surgery for ectopic pregnancy. However, as you have had intercourse and now a positive pregnancy test, it is possible to become pregnant.
While I’m not medically trained and cannot comment on your specific situation, for your peace of mind, you may want to schedule a time to see your GP or you may want to self refer to the EPU to have an early reassurance scan around 6 weeks.
With good wishes,
Michele

I see my gp when I had a positive test which was nearly 2 weeks ago. I was booked in for a scan at the epu tomorrow and needed to have another positive test 10 days after the first which I have so having a scan done tomorrow to see what is going on. My heads all over the place as I don’t have a clue what is going on. I had a c section scar ectopic pregnancy which ended in surgical management nearly 7 weeks ago. Still no cycle. Guess we will know for sure what’s going on tomorrow
