I found out today that I am four weeks pregnant. I don’t know if I’m just over sensitive to pains down below since having my tube removed but I keep feeling the odd pain/ache. Nothing excrutiating and only lasts for a few seconds.
Had anyone else had this and gone on to have a successful pregnancy. My OB said he doesn’t want to do blood tests for hcg levels between now and my scan (in two weeks time) and I should just relax and enjoy being pregnant…so long as I’m not bleeding. Can’t help but worry about every bit of pain/sensation that I get down there though!
Firstly congratulations, amazing news quite soon after your ectopic!
I took 9 months after having mine, and mine was self resolving with no surgery.
I expect you are truly stressed out worrying about every little niggle you encounter, perfectly understandable given what you’ve been through. It is such a shame that it leaves such fear behind that it’ll happen again or something will go wrong.
I found that the mentality “what will be will be” useful, there is literally nothing we can do but wait and hope. Its so unfair that we’re unable to enjoy that initial excitement like “normal” people.
I completely feel for you, that concern doesn’t go away until that final push when your tiny person pops into the world. My little girl was born on Saturday, and i feel like the luckiest person alive. The trauma we’ve been through will never leave us, but it is so truly humbling that it makes you a stronger person. Everything happens for a reason is never truer at times like these, try to remain positive and talk to people about how you feel, snd never be afraid to seek mefical advice if you feel something is wrong.
Thank you for your reply Saint2005 your words are really reassuring and it is so lovely to hear stories like yours. I am so happy you have a precious girl and I hope one day I get to experience being a mum.
I have an hospital appt tomorrow so going to tell them my concerns and see if they are willing to do blood tests in the meantime just to put my mind at rest.
Take care and congratulations on having your beautiful girl x x
I just wanted to try and reassure you. I had my right tube removed December 2015 and like you got pregnant very soon after, January 2016 and had my little girl in October.
I posted her here at the time I had a positive test andlike you I was feeling little Nigles and pains on the side where I had a tube, I was really worried until I had my scan… and even then worried the whole pregnancy something would be wrong and it wasn’t!!
When they removed my tube they said the other one looked absolutely fine so try and take some reassurance that they would of told you if it was likely you’d have another ectopic.
I like to believe that I got pregnant so soon after because my body was really ready for a baby and I’m sure that is also the case for you.
Good luck with everything, in sure it will be fine xxx
Thank you for your reply and congratulations on having your little baby. The surgeonsaid my other tube looked healthy so I too should seek comfort in knowing that atleast.
Thank you so much for your reassuring words, they really do help x x
Hi there! I know a lot of women who had a lot of overall cramping/pain during their early weeks in pregnancy and everything turned out fine. Every body is different - you will know deep down if something is not right. My doctor managed my hcg levels RIGHT away to keep an eye on things - I’m surprised yours isn’t. But trust in them to know best. My blood levels kept going up and that gave me peace of mind. Take it day by day and have positive thoughts for your little baby growing in there! We all know there is a large chance that we can experience ectopic pregnancies consecutively so it is hard not to let it get to your head. All the best to you!
