This is my first ever post on a support website following a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in September 2013 which resulted in a salpingectomy of my right Fallopian tube. I was approx 8 weeks along.
I have had 2 normal cycles since my op and am now 3 days late for my period but still getting negative tests. I feel as if I have some pregnancy symptoms but I don’t know if It’s just wishful thinking. I am just feeling terrified that I am pregnant but it’s another ectopic and that’s the reason the pregnancy hormone isn’t detectable yet.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what you would recommend? I’m unsure if I should contact my doctor at this point as I’m sure they will tell me to wait longer.
Any advice would be appreciated and sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place!x
After my ep my cycles seemed to normalise (I was regular 28 days before) then got longer and longer once up to forty days. Periods can fluctuate for many reasons including stress, and late ovulation, your doctor will probably make you wait until you wait longer or until you get a positive test before doing anything.
I would test every couple days just to be safe, but try to relax and stressing about it can make it worse.
I don’t have any experience or specific advice but I just wanted to reach out to you because my EP was in Sept and I had a tube removed too and am now TTC for first time. I really hope that things go your way this time.
I would echo what Sarah says, my periods have taken a while to settle down too. Also I think we are also more likely to fixate on what we see as signs of a possible EP that would’ve meant nothing to us if we hadn’t been through the trauma.
