Trying for a baby after ectopic

Hi ladies,

Myself and my partner experienced an ectopic pregnancy in February, after advice from our EPU we have been able to try again this month, I found it hard to believe I might be more sensitive and notice more feeling in my groin/abdomen area and yet I’m feeling new twinges every day. I was just looking for some success stories and/or symptoms you have had since having healthy pregnancies after ectopic? I’ve had some potential pregnancy symptoms but I’m still testing negative at this point but with the twinges I keep feeling I’m worried if I am pregnant it could be ectopic again? What were your healthy pregnancy symptoms after your ectopic and did they feel anything like an ectopic? Thank you xx

Hi Hannah2024,

Many women report feeling greater awareness of sensations in their uterus and pelvis area following their ectopic pregnancies, such as feeling ovulation pains when they have never felt them before. In some ways, we are more in tune with our bodies after these experiences.

In your case, I would encourage you to continue the pregnancy testing, perhaps trying another in a couple of days, to keep an eye on any changes. Of course, you know your body best, and if you have concerns, it’s important to see your doctor.

TTC after an ectopic pregnancy can be an anxious time for many women. I know how strong the desire to have a child can be, and I encourage you to be extra-compassionate with yourself during this time. So many of these processes are well outside of our control. It’s important to have the emotional and physical support you need during this time. Please know that we are here for you throughout your journey. Please take good care and look after yourself.

With good wishes,

Michele

Hi Michelle,

Thank you I really appreciate it, this forum has been such a brilliant support.

Kind regards

Hi Hannah,

I can’t speak for healthy pregnancy, as that hasn’t happened to me yet - but after my ectopic, my cycle changed completely and I feel all sorts of things throughout it. My period pains are horrific on the first day and I’ve had many times questioning if it’s a period or another ectopic. These forums have really helped me in realising that a lot of us have experienced changes, so you are definitely not alone in your thinking.

I hope that helps a bit, sending love xx

Hi Victoria,

Thank you it does really make me feel better thank you, like you say this forum is such a lovely community and it’s nice to speak to people who understand! It’s so strange the feelings I get now which I’d never felt before and I’m learning not to over analyse them, thank you for your reply :two_hearts: xx
