The FEAR- extreme pain on left side (previous ectopic ) up to 5 days after ovulation and now pregnant ….

Hey girls ,

I’m just new to this forum and honestly it has been a breath of fresh air to see the posts and to see positive news from previous ectopics etc .

This time last year we had an ectopic pregnancy - emergency surgery as it had ruptured but they were able to save the left tube but it could be damaged . Left side is sore at every ovulation and this month after ovulation it was agony for a few days too and I nearly could feel something was blocked and a weird sensation.

I took a test yesterday and I am pregnant so only about 4 weeks but that pain after ovulation (up to 5 days after ovulation has freaked me out )

I got a hcg blood test done yesterday and have another tomorrow to see if they levels are doubling but I’m feeling it is very similar already to the previous ectopic so def thinking the worst . I’m usually a positive thinker but this has def made me so apprehensive .

Has anyone had that extreme pain after ovulation and still went onto have a healthy pregnancy ?

Hey

I’m sorry I can’t comment on my personal experience as I am not yet pregnant again but just wanted to say I’ve heard many success stories of people being pregnant again with normal pregnancies and having the same pains.

I was also treated with expectant management and have been very anxious to try and conceive again but the positive stories on this page have really helped me to stay positive.

Dont give up hope - praying it’s good news for you x

Dear Mollie,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

Unfortunately we cannot tell from the pain you have experienced whether this pregnancy will be successful as pain at ovulation does not tell us much about the outcomes.

I am glad you have had serial hCG levels and I hope this provides some reassurance, however a scan will be the only definite diagnosis of a successful pregnancy and it’s likely too early for you just now.

We will be here for you, whatever the outcome.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi Mollie,

I also had an ectopic pregnancy about 1 year before we found out we were pregnant again (currently 29 weeks!).

I had some pain after ovulation each month, but nothing severe until the month I found out I was pregnant. I was certain that it was ectopic again due to the pain and waiting days in between blood draws until we could finally make it far enough along for an ultrasound was AGONY!

BUT, blood work all looked good with appropriate hcg rise and around 7 weeks we had an ultrasound that showed a sweet baby in my uterus. I didn’t know it would be possible to see a baby in there, but somehow it was.

Keep faith, try to relax (as hard as that is), and trust that God has a plan for this sweet baby. I’ll be thinking of you!
