TTC, terrified with lower left pain for 5 days

I had an ectopic pregnancy on Feb 16th this year with surgery to remove my right tube. This was after a miscarriage in December last year so it’s been an especially rough time for us. However we have been TTC for 2 months but this month I’m full of pain on my left side. I am aware it could be ovulation pains but the pain has got worse this evening and I thought ovulation pains only occurred for a day or 2?! I’m on day 16 of my cycle so pretty sure a pregnancy wouldn’t show up on a test if I am pregnant so feel very uneasy and confused.

Has anybody got any advice or experienced something similar?

I’m absolutely terrified, I can’t bare the thought of going through another ectopic pregnancy again. Thank you in advance x

I don’t know if this will help but for me I had the same pains like pinching or thobbing for 4 days and it wouldn’t be for long but enough for me to notice the pain. It ended up being nothing. I guess maybe after ectopics and TTC I was more aware of my body than I have ever been. If the pain continues or becomes worse I would call your doctor and let them know your worries. They might give you a blood test or a scan. That’s what I did when I had my pains and my doctor seemed to understand my fears and I got a full check-up.

Thank you for replying, that’s reassuring to hear. I do agree I think I feel more in tune with my body since my ectopic pregnancy so maybe that’s all it is I’m noticing every last thing. Hopefully my doctor will do that for me If needs be, I’ve had bad experiences with doctors before. Thanks for getting back to me!

Also if you feel like your doctor isn’t the best fit for you then you have the right in any hospital setting to request a new doctor! I went through a couple to find my perfect doctor.

Hi Emmie2018

I dont know if this can help you, but I had pains at ovulation which were worse and longer than my period since last December when I had my ectopic and my left tube was removed. I was advised to wait for at least 6 months before TTC so I haven’t started yet. I am ovulating these days now and I am eventually pain free for the first time in 6 months. This is to say that it could be normal, as your body needs to heal and find a new balance. I guess that if you don’t feel right is best just to check with a doctor who can check everything is alright, I went when it started and was told it was normal.

Good luck!!

Kellie24 thank you yes this is true it does take some time to get a doctor that’s right for you doesn’t it so I will persevere!

MadameSophie that’s good to know, I do think it must take quite a while to truly heal from the surgery etc and for the body to settle back again. I was told to wait 3 months to TTC again so it’s interesting to hear different advice. That will help me if we don’t manage to conceive yet too coz I will just think my body isn’t ready.

Thank you:)
