I have my 6 week scan tomorrow to make sure that this pregnancy isn’t ectopic. I have been feeling really positive about this pregnancy, (lots of symptoms and no bleeding) but I am getting so nervous. What if it is ectopic again? I wouldn’t know how cope with it. Trying to remain positive and calm. I will write an update tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Good luck for your scan tomorrow, hope all goes well x I had an eptopic surgically removed last August and my left tube as well, we have just started trying for another one x
Just got back from my Scan and they can see a gestational sac in my uterus, but no yolk sac yet. I am only 5 weeks 4 days, so they said that is quite normal and I shouldn’t worry - which of course I am At least it seems that it isn’t ectopic, which is good news, but they want to monitor my HCG levels, so I have to go back for more bloods on sunday.
So neither great news, nor bad news, which leaves me in a bit of limbo again. :?:
Hey! I had my first scan 10 days ago and only saw a sac too, my dates had been wrong so I was only 5 weeks 6 days. But I was back yesterday so I was 7 weeks 3 days and the saw the baby and heard heartbeat!!! So try not to worry ( easier said than done, I know!) your pregnancy is in the womb, which is amazing but just too early so relax xx
I am so glad that your pregnancy is progressing well.
Did you have a Yolk Sac visible at your first Ultra Sound? I am freaking myself out, I just don’t know how I would deal with another disappointment. I just need to tell myself that it is just too early. Thank you for replying. x
Hi, they saw a wee tiny faint yolk sac but remember I was 2 days ahead of you, which is alot in these first few weeks.
Just focus on the positive, you’re pregnant, its in the womb, youre not bleeding and you have all the symptoms! Try and distract yourself and if you start thinking negatively, stop and imagine the rest of your pregnancy and a baby at the end.
I just wanted to add my whispered congratulations to you, too.
It’s so so easy to say “try not to worry” and I know how difficult that is when you are playing the waiting game.
As you have mentioned, because it is an early scan, it is very common not to see a heartbeat yet with early pregnancy scanning and the hospital should book you in for another scan for next week when baby will have developed further.
Thinking of you and sending you tonnes of good wishes

Thank you for responding. I was expecting not to see the heartbeat, but there was nothing at all in the sac, not even a yolk sac, which I found really devastating. Does anyone have any experience of this and everything turned out fine?
Well they checked my HCG levels and they are rising fine - Friday 13,500 and Sunday 21,000. (Apparently after levels of 6000, it takes longer than 48 hours to double) so the doctors think this is promising. I am still very anxious, as I think with such a high level they should have seen something more than just the gestational sac. I am going a bit crazy with this…
Sure thats great news! You need to just focus on the positive, I completely understand what you’re going through as ive just come through the same waiting game! It may seem like forever but time will pass and from the sounds of it I think all will be ok.
Think of your baby, its not good for you or baby to be stressing. Relax, you’re days away from knowing for definite that alls well xx
Thank you Maria. I spoke to my private gynecologist ( my insurance doesn’t cover pregnancy related things so I can’t see him) and explained all the numbers etc. to him and he thinks everything sounds good. I hope he is right. Patience really is a virtue as they say. Thanks for your encouragement
