Hi everyone.
I am currently going through my 2nd ectopic. I had the Meth shot on Thursday and will go for my 7day test tomorrow.
My previous ectopic ruptured and I had my right tube removed. I know it is 3 mths before we can try again but I am wondering if anyone knows the risk of having another ectopic in the same tube? My consultant said its 1 in 10 but surely there is damage in the tube because I’m having an ectopic now which would make the risk higher? I’m so confused!

I’m so sorry you have had to go through this agonising experience twice. I really hope you are recovering well and have support.
As this is your second ectopic I would really recommend pushing for further tests from your GP. Although the tests can’t be completely conclusive, I think they might help you to understand a little more about what is going on.
Were you offered a HSG test to check your remaining tube?
I have read that the chances of a repeat ectopic increase with each ectopic. I think you may be right to question the stat that the dr has given you, as I believe this is the figure after 1 ectopic and not 2. I hope a host will come along and offer a little more information, as obviously this is just what I have read and might not be correct.
I have read about women who have had 2 ectopics and gone on to conceive naturally and in the uterus, so there is definitely A chance. However, I think you need to look into what other services your dr can provide you, to rule out any obvious reasons why you may be unfortunate enough to have a third ectopic.
