I’ve just found out I’m pregnant and am absolutely terrified! I’ve had 3 previous ectopics; 2 on the right side and that tube is now removed and 1 in my left tube which they treated with methotrexate back in 2014. I had a hsg after that pregnancy and was told the tube was open but looked a bit twisted.
For a whole host of other reasons we are now doing surrogacy as we were advised the likelihood of me ever getting pregnant again and in the right place was so unlikely. And so now this!! I have irregular cycles so have no idea how pregnant I am other than a very strong line on the test. I have a scan booked for tmw. I think the likelihood is it will be my 4th ectopic. What are the chances of that?!! Anyone else ever been in this position? It’s just so crazy.
Thanks…there’s a small part of me that dares to hope but given my history I’m thinking it’s unlikely. They told me the hairs in my tubes were likely damaged from an infection I had after a miscarriage 6 years ago. All my pregnancies since then have been ectopic so that kind of makes sense.
Hi, thought I’d give you a quick update. Unfortunately even though my hcg was doubling and my progesterone high, it did turn out to be my 4th ectopic. Has anyone else on here experienced that many?!
So I’m recovering after surgery on Christmas Eve. Not ideal, I could have tried the methotrexate but given that this was the second ectopic in the left tube we felt that definitely showed it didn’t function. And I don’t ever want to go through this again so now both tubes are gone and in a strange way that is slightly comforting!
We are pursuing a family via surrogacy as unfortunately I also have ashermans syndrome which is scar tissue in the womb. So I’m signing off now, this forum and the website have been so helpful and supportive during each of my ectopic pregnancies, so thank you all and best wishes for the future xxx
