Any chance after 2 ectopics?

I had 2 ectopics 18 months apart, one tube fully removed the other was saved but I’ve been told will be scarred.

I’ve struggled to find information on risk of 3rd ectopic particularly with the remaining tube now being damaged.

We won’t qualify for IVF as I have a daughter, it’ll take us a while to save and as I’m approaching 37, I’m conscious our success chances will also be low with IVF.

I understand there is still a risk of ectopic with ivf I guess I’m trying to work out if that risk is equal to us trying naturally again.

If anyone has already looked into this, or has conceived after two ectopics I’d be grateful for any advice

Dear Bellevie,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses. Experiencing one loss is difficult, dealing with multiple losses is heartbreaking and my heart truly goes out to you.

We do hear from women who successfully conceive after multiple ectopic pregnancies. It is however difficult for me to advise on your specific circumstances as your chances of successful pregnancy may well depend on the patency of your remaining tube. For more detailed, personal information, I would advise speaking to a fertility specialist. If you are in the UK, your GP can arrange this for you.

Sending much love,

Karen x
