Pregnant After Ectopic in March - nervous!

Hi,

I had an Ectopic in March which resulted in surgery and me losing my left tube. Me and my partner waited until June to start trying again I was really worried about being able to conceive again.

I felt a bit strange this month so I decided to take a test only to get a positive straight away at just 3 weeks and 2 days pregnant which was crazy to me! I was in utter shock! I have been taking daily tests in the hope that the lines progress and get darker, which they have. Even though I am so excited I can’t help thinking and worrying what if it’s another ectopic, it’s so scary! I have a 6 week scan booked on the 14th October but it just seems like forever to wait for that all important news.

Is there anyway I can try to keep calm and not worry or is this natural after an Ectopic?

Thanks, Leah xx

Dear Leah,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. My mind also started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have friends here who understand how you are feeling.

I wish I had more tips on how to pass the time quickly, try keeping your mind occupied, books, boxsets, going for gentle walks.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Hi Leah,

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am waiting for my scan as well and I can totally understand how you are feeling.

Lots of love and luck to you

Hi Leah,

I was looking for someone to relate to, and I found it. I also lost my left tube to an ectopic in March. I just found out I am pregnant, and I won’t have my early scan until 7 weeks. To me, that is honestly terrifying. I trust my doctor, and her reasoning is that looking to early will only scare us. I understand all of your fears :fearful: :relieved: Hope everything went well and you are doing well!
