I found out last week I’m pregnant (around 5 weeks), so for a few days before I found out (continuing until now, and getting progressively worse) I’ve been have what feels like extremely painful period pains, over the past few days it’s gone more into my right pelvis area, so bad I can’t stand up properly. I’ve not experienced any bleeding or spotting, no shoulder tip pain either (well I had an ache in my left shoulder the other night, though quite sure it’s nothing).
I suffered a miscarriage last year at around 10/11 weeks, and the pain wasn’t like this. I can’t call 111 as I’m a stay at home mum and have my 3yr old with me, I know they would send me to EPAU and it’s just impossible for me to get there with my son. My partner works away and I have no one who can look after him. I’m just wondering if it’s worth even ringing them or am I just overthinking things because of the miscarriage I had last year?!
I’m sorry to hear about your miscarriage and that you are now going through this worrying time. It’s important to speak to your doctors if you are having concerns. After any baby loss, we are naturally more attuned to the challenges of early pregnancy. If you are in pain, calling 111 could help provide some reassurance, and if you are referred to the EPAU, it will be important to be seen. I know it is not easy finding childcare, and it might be worth mentioning this to the EPAU for the timing of the appointment.
Your health is of primary importance, and I encourage you to reach out for medical support to discuss your symptoms. From the bottom of my heart, please be kind to yourself through your recovery. We are here for you whenever you need it.
With good wishes,
Michele

It sounds concerning, especially if the pain is getting worse. Defintely something that should be evaluated by a medical professional, even if it might be difficult to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have you get an ultrasound. If you’re able to, please post an update to let us know how you’re doing.
