Hi hollie777,
I’m so sorry to hear you are going through this worrying time. Following our ectopic pregnancies, it is very normal to have heightened sensitivity of our bodies when we are trying to conceive. While we may be feeling well physically, the emotional recovery can take longer.
I would encourage you to test with home pregnancy tests, but realize that only a GP blood tests can accurately test the pregnancy. You will also be able to self-refer to the EPU for an early scan (about six weeks), which may bring some reassurance.
The Trust also recommends taking folic acid for 12 weeks before trying to conceive. This is important as a shortage of folate could lead to neural tube defects in a developing embryo, and the supplement is needed for the embryo’s healthy development.
Please take good care of yourself, and know that we are here for as long as you need.
With good wishes,
Michele
