Hi all I have recently found out I’m pregnant again and I am around 5 weeks. I had an ectopic back in September which ended in my left tube being removed as it had ruptured at 6 weeks. With this ectopic I had bleeding for around five days between 3 & 4 weeks I also had cramping on that side.
This time around I haven’t had any bleeding which I am taking is a good sign but I am having cramps on the side I had my tube remove removed. I have read that even if you tube has been removed the embryo can implant in the stump which is making me super nervous. I’ve also read about cornual ectopics that can happen if the tube has been removed. Equally, I’ve heard it could just be scar tissue pain.
Last time I had a gut feeling that something was wrong, but this time I do feel a bit more positive about it but the more things I read the worse I feel. I have an early scan booked for 25th Nov.
I haven’t really heard too much about people having pain on the side that they have had a tube removed in new pregnancies so any stories would be appreciated, good or bad.
Thanks
Dear hollie,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy.
After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I also felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have friends here who understand how you are feeling.
If you are concerned about the pain or it worsens, or you develop bleeding, shoulder tip pain or feel dizzy and unwell, please seek urgent medical advice. Even if it is just for reassurance.
Sending much love and positive thoughts,
Karen x
