What are the causes of really bad ovalation pain when its due. Soooo painful making me feel sick every month? Very bloated and lots of mucus. I take a bath and paracetomal and it brings the pain down but I defiantly know when I’m ovulating, for sure! Clear blue smiley face of ovulation but the lines in the test are faint. Are they ment to faint or not? Wonder if I should call my doctor to see what else it could be if I need medication?
Does Anyone else experience this?
What can be the cause?
I dont have any Fallopian tubes this may be some sort of cause as my eggs have no where to go now
2 ectopics within a year. Both surgury and now no Fallopian tubes. Thankfully it won’t happen again and awaiting NHS IVF referral list
Dear Bekadeeboo,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancies and losses.
Ovulation pain can be quite common following ectopic pregnancy however there is no real consensus as to a cause. There is a thought that it is caused by the egg breaking through the ovary , releasing a small amount of fluid or blood which may irritate nearby nerves.
Other possible causes include possible endometriosis or scar tissue from surgeries which may restrict ovaries and surrounding structures, Unfortunately no-one really knows. I would therefore advise speaking to your GP. I suggest keeping a pain diary noting when the pain appears, the intensity on a scale of 0-10 and anything that helps the pain eg resting, hot water bottle, paracetamol etc. Visiting your doctors with this information helps them to assess how best to manage your symptoms.
Sending much love,
Karen x

Hi, I also had an ectopic pregnancy back in November 2020. I had an emergency surgery where they removed my left tube and since the. J feel a burning ache pain a little above where the Incision was, ( about equal to my belly button but over to the left side). It may be sciatica as well but I get a the pain radiating down my leg to my upper thought and butt too. I’m concerned it could be an hernia so I made a dr appointment for this week too. Do you all feel this type of localized discomfort? I feel gassy and it start up around the first day of ovulation
