Does anyone else who has had a tube removed get bad pain near their ovary post ovulation for the rest of the month?
For context, I’ve had bad period pain for a long time. I generally get bad pain from ovulation onwards on my right side in particular - when I was first pregnant the ectopic was diagnosed almost by chance because I had pain in my right side (the ectopic was in left tube, where I’d had no pain). That was last summer and when my periods returned, so did the pain in my right side. I then became pregnant again but suffered a missed miscarriage. My periods have returned and have begun trying to conceive again but this month now getting pain on my left side too i.e. my tube-less side. Had anyone had the same? Just feels weird that I have pain both sides now (and extremely frustrating as have been waiting months for a gynae appointment)!
Dear Sunflower,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss.
It can be common for people to feel pain following ectopic pregnancy. I did too. Sadly there is little research into this so we aren’t sure of the exact cause.
For myself, I was due to have an exploratory laparoscopy procedure, however tell pregnant just prior to it, so I never found out of there was a cause.
I’m sorry you are having to wait a while for your gynaecology appointment, but I hope it brings you some answers.
Sending much love,
Karen x
