Ovulation

Hi I’ve been suffering a lot with stress and anxiety since my ectopic. My periods are coming regular every 28 days however I am getting more ovulation pain the normal I may get it for a few days before ovulation and then get an awful pain whilst ovulating. Is this normal?

Hi,

Since my ectopic I have been able to feel ovulation pain on the side of my ectopic pretty much every cycle, the other side I don’t feel anything. I think it’s quite normal to feel pain when ovulating and you are also possibly more aware of the pain due to what’s happened.

My ectopic was a year ago and the pain does lessen but it’s still noticeable for me.

Xx

Dear Charlottex85,

Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal as your body has been through a great deal. I too felt ovulation pain for around 2years after my ectopic pregnancy. Many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy. You also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through. If you remain concerned, I would advise keeping a pain diary and noting anything that relieves or aggravates the pain and visiting your GP or health care provider with this information.

Sending much love,

Karen x

The pain may be increased due to scare tissue you have there that gets aggravated when ovulation is happening x
