Hey, so please bare with.
I had an ectopic in December 2023 and I’m fully at a loss. I’ve always had gynae issues and been fighting for answers since I was 17 (now 32) I’ve had multiple miscarriages and the ectopic. I always knew when I was ovulating but since then every other month (I guess when ovulate from side the missing tube is) the pain is awful… but this month I am in absolute agony, pain in my side, my pelvis and goes down my thighs and inside my leg.
I was under gynae and the recurrent miscarriage clinic but they refused to refer me for endometriosis investigation because “when you had your tube removed, they may have seen if you had it” I feel I’m being fobbed off at every turn.
So, is this possibly a side effect or lasting issue due to my tubal removal or is this separate and just a gynae issue. I cannot find any information on if an ectopic can cause more painful ovulation and I feel so alone in this ATM it’s coming up to a year and ever since I just haven’t fully been right.
Thank you if you’ve read this xx
Dear Kirsty,
I am so sorry to hear of your pregnancy losses and continued concerns.
Whilst pain following ectopic pregnancy, especially around time of ovulation or periods can be common. I would advise seeking further advice if the pain remains this severe. I suggest keeping a pain diary noting when the pain appears, the intensity on a scale of 0-10 and anything that helps the pain eg resting, hot water bottle, paracetamol etc. Visiting your doctors with this information helps them to assess how best to manage your symptoms.
I would also advise asking to be referred to a fertility specialist of you are trying to conceive as you have sadly experienced multiple losses. They may also be able to fully investigate your symptoms.
Sending much love,
Karen x

Hey! Thank you for your response
I have started a pain journal so hopefully I can present it and not get ignored anymore.
I am currently under fertility clinic so I’m hoping they will push it as gynae wasn’t interested! X
Hello,
Sorry to hear about your multiple miscarriages and ectopic.
I also to suffer with ovulation pain . First I thought it was because it was because I was lifting.
My main issues is my lower back to the point it hurts on walking and bending. Plus the amount of clear cervical mucus. It happens nearly every month bang on when I’m ovulating.
I was told also my womb was fine and no signs on endometriosis.
