Longer cycles driving me mad

Hi All,

Im now 3 months post eptopic where my left tube was removed.

Im feeling really fed up and generally sad. This month we decided to start trying for a baby again.

I have had 2 periods since my eptopic the first cycle was 36 days and second 31 which for me where long cycles. Im now 37 days into my 3rd cycle, ive done 4 pregancy tests all negative. I now just want my period to arrive so i can stop worrying. should i go to the doctors ? Im convincing myself somthing is wrong, avoiding seeing anyone except my husband and just hating life in general as i feel like such a failure.

Anyone experienced similar problems?

Dear Jaz,

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,

Periods can be delayed for a number of reasons including stress or even (as surprising as it may sound) excessive exercise or weight loss. Doctors normally consider menstrual cycles of between 23-42 days to be within normal parameters. However if you are concerned, please speak to your GP. Also, while I do not want to alarm you, if you do not have a period and experience any pain or unusual bleeding, please do get medical attention as soon as you can.

Sending much love,

Karen x

Jaz, I share your frustration! I was like clockwork before having my son. When I came off pill with hope of 2nd baby, I fell pregnant quickly, but was diagnosed ectopic at 6 weeks. That was 6 months ago and my cycle is all over the place!

I am trying to be patient and positive, but it’s hard. Thanks for sharing your story x
