Hayleyp's Story

Hi All,

I didn’t post my story on the old board as it was all still too raw. So, here goes:

I’m 26, dh is 34, married 2 and 1/2 years. We live with our kitty George who has just turned 1.

I first fell pregnant Apr 05. All was going well until my routine check up with the midwife at 24 weeks. She discovered I had unusually high blood pressure and advised I go to the hospital straight away. To cut a long story short, I was admitted and everything went wrong from there. I developed early and severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP (problems with liver and kidney function and blood clotting). My placenta had stopped working and as a result we lost our baby. At 25 weeks I was induced and delivered. Our darling Joshua was stillborn on 25 Oct 2005.

We discovered I was pregnant in Feb this year. At 6 weeks I began to bleed and had terrible pain in my abdomen. I went to the EPU where they did a scan but could not find anything. I had Hcg taken and was told that the levels were normal and multiplying as they should be

A week later I was still bleeding and in pain. Still, nothing could be seen on the scan so they took more blood. I had to wait in the hospital until they had the results back from the lab. We were told the pregnancy was probably ectopic. I was taken into surgery that afternoon. My EP and tube was removed by laparoscapy.

We are slowly coming to terms with it all and hope ttc again in June.

Hayley xx
