I am pregnant again after an ectopic pregnancy in March this year. I am booked in for an early scan at 5 weeks 3 days, will this be too early to see if the pregnancy is in the right place?
Dear Emilymorgan,
Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,
As a general rule, usually scans take place at around six weeks gestation as there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo at around this time. I cannot say for sure if a pregnancy will be visible before this stage but your medical team should be aware of how far along you are and if there is any concern or uncertainty they will often complete blood hCG tests.
I am sending positive thoughts for your scan,
Sending much love,
Karen x
