3rd pregnancy after two losses

Hello,

I am here again!

After a ruptured tube and surgery in January and then a missed miscarriage in April I’m pregnant again - around 4.5 weeks. The way I’m dealing with it is some ignorance in way trying not to think about going about every day life not really believing I am given what’s happened this year. I would be due a scan just before Christmas Day and we are so worried it might be bad news and have decided to not book a scan until after Christmas or even after new year. Me and my husband were really looking forward to having a relaxing Christmas and if we went for a scan and it was bad news it would ruin it. So for example if it was a missed miscarriage again it would be able to wait anyway. I was thinking of waiting until after Xmas unless I get pain or bleeding. Is this risky?! I mean if I hadn’t of had an ectopic previously I wouldn’t have even been offered an early scan and a part of us wants to just go with that.

Hi LTQKVS,

A whispered congratulations on your pregnancy. It is so natural to have worries and concerns after all you have been through. I appreciate the concern about having a scan just before Christmas as well, and what it might mean for the holidays. I’m not medically qualified to advise on the best course of action in that regard however.

I can offer support as I know well the feeling of wanting to know/not wanting to know, and expecting the worst. All we can do it take one step at a time. There will be moments of uncertainty throughout the entire journey, and we can only take the next best step for us.

Please listen to your body and be kind to yourself. In these next weeks, just take things slowly and do what feels right for you.

We are here for you,

Michele
