When did you first feel your baby move?

Ok, so this is my first pregnancy after my ectopic.

I am just short of 14 weeks and I am definately feeling little ‘pops’ and ‘flutters’. From the scans I have had, we know the baby is an active little monkey, so I am fairly sure these feeling are something to do with the baby.

On the due sept/oct there are a few of us that think we may be getting the beginings of movements.

I assumed it would be much later than I have! But i guess after our ep’s, we are so much more in tune with the feelings down there.

So i was just curious, when did everyone feel their babies move for the first time?

Hi Zara,

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to feel the first flutters and pops at your stage. My placenta is anterior (on the front of my uterine wall) which means I am likely to feel movement later and at first not as strongly. I first felt flutters at around 18 weeks. I started with full on movement at about 21 weeks which kept me awake for a few nights as it was an alien sensation to me!

Now I feel and see movement all the time. Midwife said I need to be feeling 10 movements a day…more like 10 an hour!

Good luck,

Leila

Hi Leila, thanks for your response

Well i am on 15 weeks now, and these pops are stronger and more frequent, so i am pretty sure its the little one making him or her self known! Makes it easier to use the doppler, i have to admit!

Today i felt them for the first time whilst walking-i normally only feel them when lay down or sat at my desk. I think little un was protesting at going to spoons for work lunch!

I cant wait til my OH can feel them too

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy :), and thank you to everyone who has answered so far.
