I had an EP in October 2012, lost my left tube. I’ve had the tests and my right tube is clear.
Now my life’s changed slightly since then. I’m with a new partner and new married. He suffers with retrograde ejaculation (spermatogenesis goes back into bladder) this is caused by his diabetes.
We’re both desperate for a baby. He’s currently seeing a specialist over this issue to see what they can do.
But we’re trying to figure out where to go next if this dosent work.
I know there is IVF but I don’t know how it works or even if we can afford it.
What other options do we have. Can anyone offer any advice
Hi Shibhon. Sorry to hear about your previous loss. Congratulations on your marriage. As far as I know, if you are very unlikely to conceive naturally, your options would potentially be IUI (placing your partners sperm in your uterus if any can be accessed) or IVF (where your egg and partners sperm are used to create an embryo outside of your body which is then placed in your uterus). You might need to have the ICSI type of IVF where a single one of your husband’s sperm is injected into your egg due to issues with sperm quality. It sounds like you need a good chat with a fertility consultant. If you do need to have fertility treatment of any kind, take heart, many of the ladies on these boards have gone on to have little ones (including me). Wishing you the best. Scoops XX
