Very strange HCG levels please help???

Hi everyone

I have recently been through IVF and I was told I had miscarried early due to bleeding, but last Saturday they infomed me to have another blood tests this saturday as I have what they have said ‘very strange HCG results.’ They are still considering miscarrage or ectopic (although, more miscarrage) and viable pregnancy is very slim - unless my one egg they transfered divided into identical twins and I lost one so they said. I do have twins in my family, but very slim chance.

I am just curious to ask if any of you lovely gals have had any similar HCG results to these…

259 THURSDAY

168 SATURDAY (2 days later) was informed I had miscarried due to the drop in hcg levels.

168 WED (4 days later)

168 FRIDAY (2 days later) (IF MISCARRAGE IT IS SUPPOSSED TO DROP BY I THINK THEY SAID 60% EVERY 48 HOURS…ECTOPIC I KNOW GOES UP AND DOWN AS IVE HAD ONE…SO VERY STRANGE)

Yes, my levels dropped by 90 which they said was miscarrage, but now are just staying exactly the same and these x3 tests where done 4 days apart and then 2 days apart. Just got to wait until Saturday now for another test so I will know a bit more - it will be 7 days since my last blood test. I am still spotting (brown only) thought it would have stopped by now. Anyone ever had weird HCG results like this before… in a viable pregnancy maybe? Although very wishful thinking. Started my new job yesterday (after redundancy, good to get back to work, but I have had 5 women ask me if I have kids, so difficult, I say no and then quickly change the subject.

Hi Keates13,

I’ve just come out of hospital (a couple hours ago) following my 2nd ectopic which has unfortunately left me infertile at 24. They had the same confusion with my hcg levels.

When they did the scan they were positive I was miscarrying but my hcg levels were at 5000 and that was Tuesday afternoon. Thursday morning they re-checked and they had jumped to 6200!!!

It was then decided to rush me to theatre where they unfortunately took out my remaining tube.

Have you got another blood test booked and have you got an Early Pregnancy Unit at your doctors or local hospital where you would be able to go for a scan or to get checked to see what is happening?

Hope this is something you can look into and helps xxx
