Were people trying to get prg or using contraception at the time of first ep?
hi, when i conceived my ep baby - i wasnt def wasnt trying - my bf an I had only been together 4 months. But we wern’t very careful. we only used condoms a few times and once before conceiving and once while i was already preg (though didnt know at time) I took the morning after pill. I have spent a long ime feeling so guilty about this - my sister in law to be told me thats what caused it. And have felt that it was therefore my fault that i lost my baby.
I was angry for a long time that my GP who i told i had taken the pill did not mention the risk of ectopic so I could have been more aware to look for signs - it took me two days after rupture to go to a&e!
I have since been told that although the morn afer pill does increase the risk - if ep is gonna happen it will regardless of whether i took it or not.
I dont know what to believe any more - but i try not to dwell on it!
Oh kath,
you are really not to blame for this, I’m sure that taking the morning after pill did not cause it to happen. There is some studies which have said that using a coil (or IUD) increases the chances of ectopic, I had one fitted and didn’t know I was pregnant either. you mustn’t blame yourself.

Thanks chick - someimes its so hard not to blame myself but sometimes think that if it was MA pill that caused it then mayb my chances of another one would be so much less, as obviously wont be taking i again!
I was on mini pill when I fell pregnant with EP. Was a bit careless over the New Year period as I had been sick and didn’t use other contraception but I had NO IDEA that mini pill gave you increased risk of ectopic.

Used a condom, but took the morning after pill to supposedly be on ‘the safe side’.
We were supposed to using the natural method ie avoiding fertile times.
