Unsure if I'm pregnant/ectopic

Hi,

I had an ectopic pregnancy in May which ruptured at 5.5 weeks.

I am currently 6 days late for my period (which is normally regular). I have been taking early detection pregnancy tests since then which had all been negative, but the last couple of days they have VERY VERY faint positive lines (I’ve had 3 like this).

I am confused because the line is so faint on a very sensitive test and I would have thought it would be stronger by now.

I know HCG levels rise more slowly in ectopic pregnancy, so I’m really worried it’s another ectopic…

Does anyone have any similar experiences? I will contact GP on Monday to ask for blood tests, it just feels so far away when you’re really worried :frowning:

Thanks

Hi

sadly I have recently experienced my first ectopic pregnancy. My partner and I were trying for a baby and on the first day of missing my period I did a pregnancy test which showed a clear positive line? Try not to worry to much I know it’s easier said than done. Hopefully the doctor will be able to answer your questions on Monday morning. I will keep everything crossed for you! X

Dear katia86,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

I am afraid I am not medically trained and if you are concerned would advise speaking to your GP as it is very difficult to advise on such limited information.

Personally speaking I had a strong positive pregnancy test with my ectopic pregnancy but a very faint line with my subsequent pregnancy which was successful, so the shade of the line is not a predictor of ectopic pregnancy.

Any line on a test, no matter how faint is a positive result, so I would call your doctor surgery to book in for a midwife appointment.

Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, I have added the link to the common symptoms of ectopic pregnancy and if you experience any of them, please seek urgent medical advice.
