So I am finally passed my 3 month wait (yay) and am on cycle 3 so will be trying again this month which excites me. One question though, what are people’s views on drinking in the 2 week wait? I have a meal out with friends, I won’t drink excessively by any means but obviously I don’t want to do any harm and risk anymore complications after what I have already been through, but then the other argument is do I put my life on hold for 2 weeks every month when it may take some time? Thanks all
Good luck, Nicola!
It’s a personal call, in my opinion. I don’t think there is any research that states it is ok or not ok to have a drink in the tww, so we can’t be sure of the effects, if any.
The first few months of TTC again after my ectopic, I didn’t have a single drink during the tww. But then as time went on, I was tired of living my life in two week windows, and it felt like my life was revolving around ttc, and it was starting to feel hopeless that I’d ever get another BFP. So, I started to let myself have a glass of wine. Some people will “drink til it is pink”, i.e. until you get that BFP. I didn’t feel comfortable drinking in excess, but I would have a glass of wine, or even two, if I really wanted them (or if out for dinner, etc). But two was my self imposed limit, and I’d only have them on the weekend.
Thank you for your response. I don’t drink in the week so will only be when I am out and about and like you say I don’t want my life to become TTC, I want to enjoy it and that be an added bonus when it does happen. 2 is the limit I was thinking and if and when the dreaded AF arrives it may be more x
Yes, AF was always a good excuse to have an extra glass!
I’m so happy the wait is finally over for you !! Good luck . Hoping to read some great news soon
( I also feel the odd social drink will do no harm x )
(… I mean Until you get your BNP )
Thank you! I’m trying to take a relaxed approach, no tracking and just keeping in mind I ovulate around cycle day 15. I shall keep you posted though
