Preparation for next pregnancy

Hi ladies,

I was just wondering if anyone has made any lifestyle changes, to prepare for their next pregnancy after an EP? Example- like quit smoking, eat more healthy, excercise, take supplements, self help, etc. I’m just curious.

Thanks everyone. Take care.

Lindsay

I already had a good diet, did a lot of exercise and didnt smoke. However I drank like a student at the weekends. Cut down to 4 units at weekends. I was shocked that a small glass of wine is 1 unit. Not so much that it was one glass but that it was based on 9% alcohol…I mean theres hardly any 9% alc wine these days, all mine were about 13%.

I did a combination of a few things, I made sure I was eating a healthy diet, I cut down on coffee and I took mulitvitamins. I tried to relax more, but when you’re ttc that kind of impossible.

Well, I’ve voted improved diet but my diet is pretty good anyway… just taking a careful view of some of the baddies and eliminating them (such as hydrogenated fats).

I ration my drinking to certain times of the month, take prenatal vitamins, and generally look after my wellbeing - mental and physical.

Relaxing whilst ttc is nigh on impossible, I have found. Last month was a month off - it was bliss - this month back on the ttc circuit and my shoulders are round my ears. Much as I want to bring them back down I can’t!

I have changed my mental outlook the most. Just always trying to stay possitive and careful at the same time. I am paying more attention to my body and what I feel. I am also buy a lot more htp  .

Before TTC the first time I watched what I ate, took pre-conception vitamins, lost a stone, did loads of exercise, stopped smoking and didn’t drink. I also went and got all my bloods checked at the doctors just in case.

Then I had my EP.

Second time round I didn’t do anything really.

Saying that I generally have a quite healthy diet, and get a fair bit of exercise, but if the amount of effort that goes into getting it right had any effect I’m sure there would be a whole lot of very different stories on these boards!

ttc first time round which ended in ep, I stopped smoking, cut my alcohol consumption and didnt drink at all on 2ww, took vitamins and lots of exercise and healthy eating.

This time (5 months later) I have been doing the same, BUT, as I got a bfn today I am starting to think that I am gonna drink and smoke and do anything I fancy because I am sick of living a half life with no reward for it :x

I’m embarking on a new exercise regime (still waiting for hcg to drop to 0 after meth injection). but i am going to loose a bit of weight between now and xmas when we can start TTC again.

After xmas I will behave like I am pregnant - no alcohol, no bad foods like uncoooked eggs, cheesecake, prawns etc. Just because we were trying and I got BFN and I was actually pregnant - then we found out it was EP. So i will be extra cautious about everything…I will try to not get stressed at work and take too many flights too.

I cut down alcohol consumption … I’m still a big fan of red wine but I don’t drink Sun-Wed and usually just have a couple of glasses at weekends and there’s often a recorked bottle in our house these days!! I also started running after first EP and find that’s a good way to keep fit and feel good about myself.
