Two ectopics...can I still conceive naturally?

Hi all,

In January 2017 I found out I was pregnant. We’ve been trying since August 2016. A week later I started bleeding and it was found to be ectopic and was given methotrexate. We waited a few months and started ttc again and I recently found out I was pregnant again. Everything looked good hcg levels were great. Went in for a 5 week 6 day US and no sac was found. Another ectopic and I was given methotrexate this past Friday. I go in again tomorrow for my day 7 hcg draw and I have a feeling I will need another dose of MTX. I needed 2 shot in January. Anyways, so now we wait again for a few months. My question is: has anyone had multiple ectopics and went on to conceiving naturally and to full term?

Thanks,

Tara

Hi Tara,

I’m really sorry for what you’re going through. I’m currently going through my second ectopic as well, although my situation is a little different. I had my first in 2015 - Methotrexate didn’t work and I had to have my right tube removed. Then I had a successful pregnancy in 2016, giving us our daughter. But now I’m having another ectopic in my left tube. Like you I’m worried about the chances of conceiving naturally, with only one tube left which is now damaged/more damaged.

So I’m sorry I can’t actually answer your question! But I would like to read anyone’s response who can.

I hope you’re doing ok, remember that you’re not alone.
