TTC with one tube and PCOS

Hiya

I have posted a few times on here , I had my left tube removed in jan due to an ectopic, I have also got PCOS but conceived the 3rd month TTC which then ended in the ectopic ( first only pregnancy)

Since then I have had only 2 actual periods since (2nd one being only now)

But I know that pcos is irregular periods irregular ovulation also and I know after the trauma it takes time to get back to normal but now I feel like it’s just never going to happen?

I also have still tracked my ovulation had a couple peaks on the clear blue test but that was after the op , but it didn’t work :frowning:

Has anyone got anything similar and had a healthy baby I’m so convinced I’m going to have to struggle I have been referred to the gynaecologist but with the Covid obviously it was cancelled and I have no idea when I’ll get my appointment :frowning:

Trying so hard to keep positive but it’s now July and I’m not getting anywhere! I want a baby so so bad and I’m getting very frustrated and down due to the unknown… ::frowning:

Hi…

I am really sorry for your loss… and I know the pain.

I also have PCOS, but conceived in just 2 cycles , but that resulted in ectopic pregnancy last week. :frowning:

I am preparing my mind that the journey is gonna be tough… but it will definitely happen… I am yet to get back my cycles…

Lets give our body time to heal and hope everything falls in place. Sending

Dear Abilouise,

I very much understand that strong desire to conceive. I appreciate how frustrating it can be if it isn’t happening as quickly as we would like. Conceiving successfully can take time and can take some couples more than a year or so.

While generally it is possible to conceive after an ectopic pregnancy, the amount of time it takes varies from couple to couple. Factors include age, general health, reproductive health and how often you have sex, among other things. It may be comforting to know that 65% of women are successfully pregnant within 18 months of experiencing an ectopic pregnancy and some studies suggest this rises to around 85% after two years. It is good that you have been referred, I am so sorry that this is on hold due to the covid-19 pandemic. When you hear that restrictions on hospital appointments are lifting, I would call the secretary of the consultant you were due to have your appointment with to reschedule.

In addition. having regular sex means having sex every 2/3 days throughout the month. Guidance from the UK’s National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence advises that having sex around the time when the woman ovulates causes stress and is not recommended. We here at the EPT suggest having intercourse 2/3 times between days 10-20 of their cycle when trying to conceive.

Sending much love and warm hugs,

Karen x

Hi Abilouise,

So sorry to hear about your loss. I also have PCOS - my first pregnancy we were ‘not trying not preventing’ for two years, then I got pregnant within 7 months of going on metformin but it ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. Then another 18 months before getting pregnant (on metformin again) in April, which ended with an ectopic at 8 weeks.

So now I’ve got PCOS and only one tube as well. We were referred as well just before covid - we were waiting for a repeat sperm test for my partner (he got a low count on his first test) which has just happened after being postponed from April, so it seems like things are maybe starting up again - fingers crossed you’ll hear about your referral soon!

Our consultant has now said that he’s going to leave us to it for a few months (I think because we got pregnant, even if it was ectopic) and otherwise unless my partner’s test results improve we’re looking at IVF :frowning:

PCOS is so annoying, I’m just trying to work out my cycles again. Had one period after the ectopic, and some spotting today mid-cycle which I’m even wondering if it could be ovulation spotting, but I’ve never had a regular cycle so it’s very difficult to work it out!

Sorry that’s not exactly the success story you’re looking for but it sounds like we’re in somewhat similar situations so wanted to respond!

Thank you all for your replies !!

It’s nice to hear it’s not just me !

Sorry about your losses to

I’m going to give reception a call Tomororw to see if they have any sort of update with my appointment , just would be nice to know that I have a date to look forward to!

I just hope we all get our happy ending soon , this period seems to be a sort of normal period I used to a few years ago ( my periods wasn’t that bad until we said we wanted a baby ! ) always the the way! things then drastically changed ! I do worry that they won’t help me due to falling pregnant even if it was ectopic! Hopefully they can do something ! xxxx.

Keep me updated on your journey xxxx

Hope your all keeping safe xx
