Will I ever get my happy ending

Hiya

Feeling very down at the moment with having PCOS and having the ectopic , my first period since has been going on for 3 weeks light then spotting then light and then a it’s got a bit heavier and now spotting again …

Now nearly a year has past since TTC

And now only one tube on top of my PCOS

I literally feel like It’s never going to happen … should I just give up with the idea of having a baby … :frowning:

Seems to be everyone around me is having healthy babies constantly and I still have no luck

Anyone else have any happy endings after the ectopic with PCOS aswell??

:frowning:

I had 3 ectopic 1 2017, 2018, 2019. I felt hopeless and wanted so badly to have a baby. I was so devastated. Healing emotional was challenging due to it happening year after year. I move on to IVF had 2 transfer and they didnt work. I was still hurt and yearning for my baby. I did 1 more IVf transfer and it worked! I’m now 7 weeks and baby looks great so far. I still have fear it’s not going to go well but I pray and I’m hopeful this is the baby I bring home.

It’s been a long journey I pray you find peace and healing.

Dear Abilouise,

I successfully conceived after my ectopic pregnancy, however I do not have pcos. I would advise speaking to your GP about your individual circumstances.

You mention you are feeling down at the moment and whilst this is a normal stage of recovery if the down days start to outweigh the good, we at the Trust believe that talking through what happened and your emotions as and when you can helps the healing process. We operate a helpline service and there’s no pressure whatsoever but if you would ever like the opportunity to speak over the phone to someone who has been through a similar experience, do feel free to call, details are below. We can take things at your pace entirely and you are free to ask any questions that are on your mind. You can talk about the ordeal you have been through and express your feelings to vent and let off some steam. We can exchange emails too, if you prefer that route. We’ll simply be here for you, however you wish and for as long as you wish.

In addition, you can ask to see a GP at your practice and ask them to explore ways in which you can get help and this can include referrals for “talking therapies” or counselling. We have information on our website about finding counselling services.

The charity Mind may also be of assistance. They have local centres and support groups and can offer services on a means-tested basis or sometimes free. You can find your local centre following this link if that may be useful too: http://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/local-minds/

We of course will be here for you for as long as you need,

Sending much love,

Karen x

Thank you

I’ll have a look into those thank you!

Also a question , when you fall pregnant again did you feel more tender on the side with the remaining tube ? Did it feel any different just because of the previous ectopic ?

Xxx

Dear Abilouise,

To answer your question, I certainly felt pains when I next fell pregnant and it made me really anxious.

It is important to have an early pregnancy scan with all subsequent pregnancies. Speaking from UK medical practice and standards, usually doctors carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo around this six week mark.

We advise contacting your local EPU, reminding them of your ectopic pregnancy and booking an appointment. If you are unable to self refer, contact your GP who will be able to do this for you.

Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, I sadly have to remind you that if you experience any unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell to seek urgent medical advice.

Sending much love and warm hugs,

Karen x
