Terrified

Hello ladies,

I had an ectopic in January and after methotrexate failed I had the operation and lost my left tube. After the three months were up we started trying again and I got my bfp on 21st May. Since then I’ve been absolutely terrified of it happening again. I have no symptoms other than cramps which is exactly the same as the ectopic. I’m so scared. Have a scan booked for next Monday when I should be 6+2 but I can’t help but fear the worst. I’m convinced it’s going to be bad news. X

Being scared is understandable. I think all of us who have been pregnant after an ectopic have been terrified until we find out it is in the right place. Good luck! I hope this next week goes quickly for you until you can get a scan.

Dear sar12,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy.

LilyKedd is so right, it is completely normal to feel scared during this time. I know I was absolutely petrified, I too started getting cramps before my 6week scan and I think it is only natural for us to fear the worst.

I wish I had words of wisdom with how to fill your time but I know the thoughts were with me every moment. Try to rest and take it easy and we will keep everything crossed for you.

Sadly I do have to remind you that if you experience pain or bleeding to seek urgent medical help but the good news is that you have sought medical advice early and already have an early scan booked in. It can often be reassuring to know we are on the medical radar.

We are all here for you, continue to use the forums for as long as you need.

Sending much love,

Karen x
