Symptoms but no result

Hi, I’m just seeking advice.

I suffered an ectopic pregnancy in February and lost my right tube. I also suffer from PCOS so periods can be random.

I was finally given the all clear back in June to start again. After 2 periods just 5 weeks apart in June and July, we started trying again.

I’ve recently started to have feelings my body was telling me something. Tender breasts, sensations in my abdominal area and going off food and drinks I like. I took a test which came back negative, but my body was still feeling different to normal.

I contact med my doctors who at first just told me to monitor my feelings and sensations and return if I wasn’t happy. I of course returned as the paranoia and worry became too much based on my previous experience. My doctors were showing no concern or interest and it took some convincing to be seen and heard. They finally gave me a blood test which has come back negative and have since just left me in the dark with no advice on how to move forward.

My doctors just don’t want to listen to me and just won’t offer me the guidance or support I am seeking. I’m now 9 weeks since a period and pregnancy tests are negative.

It’s killing me inside that doctors just won’t listen to me when I’m asking for help. I don’t know what to do now or where to go for guidance.

I don’t know how to track ovulation when my periods are not regular and I suffer from PCOS and have lost a tube.

I’m overly paranoid and worried as it is and my doctors just won’t listen to me.

Many thanks for reading this,

Katie

Hi Katie,

I am so sorry to hear of the worrying time you are going through. Suffering an ectopic pregnancy can create a heightened awareness of what is happening with our bodies, especially when we are TTC. I’m so sorry that you don’t feel heard by your doctors, and want you to know that you can continue to advocate for yourself.

If you are concerned about your symptoms worsening, I would always advise to seek urgent medical advice, at the very least to put your mind at rest. You may want to continue the home pregnancy tests, for peace of mind. I’m not medically qualified to comment on the PCOS or delay to your period, but always encourage women to continue to ask the questions they have, even writing them down prior to the visit to ensure you are able to ask all of them.

It can be very worrying when we do not know what is going on with our bodies and you know your body best, so if you have any concerns, I would advise seeking medical advice.

With many good wishes,

Michele
