Started ttc but pertried in 2 week wait

Hi we’ve just started ttc conceive again after an expectantly managed ectopic last Aug. What a horrible traumatic time it was. It’s took me 6 months near enough to come to terms and want to try again. However I’m now in the 2 week wait period and I am really nervous. What if my tube was damaged in the first place which is why I had the ectopic and because my tube is still there I’ll definitely have another. So many worrying thoughts going through my head and I am absolutely desperate for a baby. Anyone else feeling the same??

Dear Charlottex85,

I remember being absolutely petrified when we started ttc again, I think this is normal after everything we’ve been through.

It is normal to feel anxious about the future. We experience a mix of emotions from wanting to try again to being petrified of what may lie ahead.

We will never forget but we learn to accept what happened. It i slow process - might be weeks or months ahead.

In time, can get to a place where feel comfortable trying again. When this is, is individual for each person. There is no timeframe for recovery, take each day as it comes.

Importantly early scans avail. As soon as you know you are pregnant, contact your local EPU to inform them and book in for an early scan at around six weeks. Remind them of your previous ectopic pregnancy. This self refer route is the best route in our view. Hopefully you will have some comfort to know you are under the radar of medical professionals right away.

We are here too. TTC emotional rollercoaster compounded by our sad loss, you are not alone. We here emotional support whenever you need us.

Sending much love,

Karen x
