Second suspected ectopic- support needed

Evening all. I had an tubal ectopic in July with conservative management on my right side. Just before Xmas I had a positive PT. I had bleeding for a day a week later which was stressful in itself but presumed to be implantation bleeding. I’ve had my 6.5 week scan at the EPU today and it wasn’t great. Changes seen in my uterus that could be consistent with an early pregnancy but from what the sonographer said it would have to be 2 weeks earlier than I believe my gestation to be which seems unlikely and a mass on my right ovary. Consultant said the images are inconclusive and it could be any of the following; ovarian cyst with uterine pregnancy/miscarriage, an ovarian ectopic with uterine changes for what my body believes is a normal pregnancy or it could be an ovarian ectopic and a uterine pregnancy at an earlier stage. I’m going back for repeat HCG Thursday with a view to making a plan. I just feel so let down by my body and I just can’t face the thought of going through the rigmarole of it all again- repeat testing, waiting tor treatment to happen, waiting for HCG to go baseline again. Firstly, anyone had anything similar with the uncertainty/inconclusiveness? Secondly, any support tips for going through it a second time? TIA

Dear LMuz,

I am so sorry to hear of your worries and I can truly appreciate your concerns.

When I had a scan for my pregnancy following my ectopic pregnancy, there wasn’t anything viewed in the screen at just under 6 weeks and my initial bloods were perceived as low (I forget numbers as this was 12 years ago now).

I was prepared for the worst and told to go back a week later for more bloods and a scan. The scan this time showed a little fluttering heartbeat so I’m sending you all my positive thoughts and energies that you have a similar outcome.

We will be here for you whatever the outcome on Thursday,

Sending much love,

Karen x
