Rupture - which week?

Hopefully this will not be offensive to anyone. One way I, personally, respond to situations like this (having an ectopic pg) is to seek information - tons of it. This is just one way of my seeking information.

If you experienced a tubal RUPTURE, how many weeks pregnant were you? (If you did not experience a rupture, please don’t vote and confuse me; just post a response if you like, and I’ll know you made it to x weeks w/o rupture. Thanks.)

I don’t really know how far along I was, because I did not know I was pregnant until after the fact, but I think (based on when my “period” started going wacky) that I was probably 8 weeks.

How many weeks pg were you when your tube ruptured?
  • Less than 5 weeks
  • 5 weeks
  • 6 weeks
  • 7 weeks
  • 8 weeks
  • 9 weeks
  • More than 9 weeks
  • Don’t Know

Well I have voted in your poll and wanted to add that I was 14 weeks - we have had people here claim to be 16 weeks with a tubal pregnancy though there are only two we can verify and if the pregnancy was interstitial (cornual) then it might go even further before it’s discovered.

There is a lot of research out there - proper peer reviewed stuff that’s been designed and controlled that shows women most commonly complain of symptoms of ectopic pregnancy between 6 to 8 weeks and rupture of a pregnancy in a fallopian tube most commonly occurs between this time frame also

I just wish I knew. I had EP 4 1/2 weeks ago and have 6 week appointment with hospital next week.

I hope I can find out!

I was 8 weeks and 2 days and was lucky (if that’s the right word) to have been in hospital when it happened.

No ruptures, EP1 dealt with at 10 weeks, EP2 dealt with at 7.5.

mine ruptured at 6 weeks, and was left for three days after the rupture before i was operated on

I thought that sounded like about the right “common” time frame, but I couldn’t find anything. I guess I’ve been looking in the wrong places.

no rupture 8 weeks, very low HCG levels tho.

No rupture for me either, EP diagnosed at 6 wks, right tube removed at 8.5wk.

no rupture 4 me bleeding but no pain at 6 weeks had scan and bloods at bout 6weeks 3days low hcg slowly diping and rising internal scan showed a dark blob in tube…although afterwards the doctor told me looking at the scan photos he thought it was a miscarriage with tissue stuck to the side of my tube and said i didnt need any treatment but offerd me meth i took the meth as i was soooo scared and confused sorry 4 rambling xxxx

First EP was part of heterotopoc pregnancy. Had bothered me a while but was notices when it started to rupture at 12 weeks

2nd EP was noticed at 12 week and removed before it ruptured

ep1 (9/05)- rupture @ 8 wks- if DH hadn’t called 911, I would have bled to death.

ep2 (8/06)- no rupture; went for sonogram @ 6 wks and didn’t see anything in the uterus. 2 shots of meth; surgery 1 wk later.

Can go for HSG after next cycle (still waiting for af- day 31 after a 28 day cycle last month) then can ttc again.

Just wanted to add I ruptured at 5 1/2 weeks, with right tube salvaged.

hi

i was five/6 weeks ahead, when my uterus was filling up with blood, because my tube had started to bleed.

don t know if that quotes for rupture tho?

Mine was 8 weeks (they think), I was in hospital 4 days after it ruptured, before they operated, or had any bloody clue what was going on!!!

Im taking legal action!

I ruptured at about 8 weeks or so ( I wasn’t keeping tabs on my AF at the time). I had one treatment of methotrexate. My levels dropped from 2500 to 64 in a couple weeks. Then ruptured when I was teaching in the north and had to be flown to hospital for laparotomy.

I didn’t rupture but my ep wasn’t diagnosed until I was 9 weeks.

I did spend 3 weeks before this going up and down to the hospital and I was even admitted at 6 weeks only to be sent home without any extra check apart from a scan, but because I didn’t have the classic symptoms, there was no way I was having an ectopic!!!

On the day of my surgery the surgeon said I was very lucky not to have ruptured before hand and they think the only reason I didn’t was because I was stationary the day before as I was in bed in hosp waiting for my lap and possible operation.

Mine ruptured at 6 weeks. The surgeon told me the lab told him 4 and it had implanted in a part of the tube that doesn’t expand well. However, AF didn’t arrive on time, a week later I called the doc’s office, a week later they did two ultrasounds, and 13 days later I was in emergency surgery. Hmmm…I count six weeks in there.

Has anyone else been told part of the tube doesn’t expand as well as the rest?

1st EP - no rupture, had surgery at 6 1/2 weeks to remove Right Tube. 2nd Ep was in stump of right tube, ruptured at 5 1/2 weeks, HCG levels approx 4000.

No rupture.

Started bleeding and then a few hours later cramping as well on May 30, 2006 - at exactly 6 weeks. Had HCG test the following day (a Wednesday), and two days later on Friday, so doctor could compare the results at Friday appointment. HCG went from 476 to 472. Scan showed corpus luteum and enlarged uterus, but no baby anywhere. Diagnosed as miscarriage, but told to get bloods done again Monday to make sure not EP.

Monday HCG was in the 600’s. Advised to come immediately for metho shot. Metho shot at exactly 7 weeks - levels to zero within 3 weeks.
