Removal of second tube or methotrexate?

Hi all,
Im 34 years old and am currently experiencing my 5th pregnancy loss.
My partner and I have been trying for nearly 3 years. In this time we’ve been pregnant 5 times. The first pregnancy resolved as a miscarriage, with nothing ever seen on a scan. The subsequent pregnancy was a left ectopic, resolved with methotrexate. The third was a PUL, but very likely ectopic and resolved on its own. The fourth ruptured in my right tube, with subsequent tube removal and now the fifth has been found in my left tube, following my first IVF embryo transfer.
It’s small, the hcg is low and I could take methotrexate. I could also have the tube removed. I need to decide tomorrow.
Im stressed by both options for different reasons : does anyone have any similar experience/wisdom?

Thanks x

Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you are going through this.
I just had my left tube removed, what they said to me in the hospital was if they didn’t remove it it may be scarred and cause future ectopics.
However I know you have your right removed so been honest i would likely opt for Methotroxate. i hope this has been some help

Thanks for your reply and advice. The tube ended up rupturing the next day, with an hcg of only 100, and i had surgery.

Along with the grief, I feel a sense of relief knowing that tube is gone, and more confident in trying IVF.

Hi,

Oh wow such a low amount of hcg for a rupture. Mine were 6000+ and had not yet ruptured but they said it was very close.

I hope you are recovering well after surgery.

And excatly sometimes there is comfort in knowing the direct path ahead as early pregnancy is such an unknown time and the worry of future ectopics.

I myself am tempted to just opt straight for ivf with the comfort of knowing it will be implanted where it belongs.
