I wanted to post to let you all know and to give you some hope. I had an Ectopic in May 16. Treated with methotrexate, it took a good 6 weeks or so to clear and I felt so rough during it. We decided not to us contraception after 4 months but wasn’t trying hard and between xmas and new year I got a positive test. I was terrified it would be another ectopic. I was gutted I used the methotrexate drug over surgery. However, we had a 7 week scan yesterday and they confirmed its in the uterus with a little heartbeat. So there is hope out there. Still have a long way to go but the first hurdle is over. I was careful as since the mtx I have thought I could feel what side I ovulated on and tried to avoid sex if I thought it was the same side. This can obv reduce chances of repeat ectopic. Good luck ladies x
Dear Maggie1,
Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for sharing your experience and giving hope to so many women.
Just as an additional piece of information as you mentioned you were worried you had chosen methotraxate over surgery, studies suggest chances of pregnancy are about the same irrespective of the type of treatment - Expectant management or medical management or surgery.
Sending positive thoughts and warm hugs,
Much love,
Karen x

Hi there,
I am also pregnant again after an ectopic pregnancy last year (treated with injection). I am extremely anxious for a scan to determine if this is another ectopic or not, and am struggling to find anyone who can give me advice on whether they are particularly sensitive on the side of the ectopic whilst pregnant? I seem to have general aches and tingles all over at various times, but definitely more on the side I had the ectopic, and I am just wondering if perhaps I am extra sensitive on that side now? Have you experienced anything similar? Appreciate any help or advice. :).
Hi there
I had ectopic in November and I’m now 4 weeks pregnant. I am also experiencing pain in the same side I had ectopic which is making me really nervous
Hi ladies
I’m soooo happy for you all.
I’ve been reading on here for a while and today I decided to share my worries too.
I also had an ectopic October 2016 treated with methotrexate and now we are thinking of trying in May as I’m living away at the moment with my husband and don’t want to go through what we went through last time so would prefer to be back in the UK when we try now.
I stay up at night thinking and worrying…will I conceive quickly as it took me year and will it be all normal.
You ladies have given me hope today thank you
Hello all. I wish I had answers for you all, but I am in the same boat. I had an ectopic pregnancy treated with methotrexate in Sept. 2016. I am currently 4 weeks and 3 days pregnancy. I am almost certain I ovulated on the same side as the previous ectopic. I am terrified.
I spotted the entire time with the first one, but have not spotted yet with this one. I feel twinges all over, but predominately on the side of the previous ectopic.
I do feel tightening in the center, like the uterus stretching, which I don’t believe I felt much with the previous ectopic.
I wish there was more information available about getting pregnancy from ovulating on the same side as previous ectopic.
I go in for my first blood test Friday…
Hi Kyrapeach
Stay positive, I believe if you think positive then positive will happen. Good sign for you is, you have no spotting.
You had your ectopic a month before mine, I never knew I was pregnant as I started bleeding when I was supposed to start my cycle and yes I had spotting through out…
I wish I can get pregnant straight away. Me and hubby have decided to try after few more months as I still get back ache, therefore feel my body needs more time. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this after methrotexate treatment??
Will appreciate your answers n experience
Thank you for the positive vibes Love20-9-16! Maybe time is what our bodies need to get it right the next time.
I will come back after my doctor’s appt to update.
