Pregnant again - Cyst?

Hi

I had an ectopic pregnancy back in March and was treated with expectant management due to the pregnancy dissolving on its own.

I am now pregnant again ( I think I’m only 3 weeks 4 days) and had a pelvic scan today - not for the pregnancy but as a follow up as I had been experiencing pains since the ectopic. It just so happened to be around the same time and they agreed to still scan me ( obviously they couldn’t see anything in my uterus as it’s far too early)

The doctor has just phoned to say that my left ovary has what looks like a cyst and I have some fluid. And he just wanted to let me know due to my ectopic pregnancy in March. I’m sure he’s only just being cautious but it’s really scared me.

Does anyone have simialr experiences with and everything turned out normal ? Surely the ‘cyst’ isn’t related to an ectopic pregnancy this early on? :expressionless:

Please help a very stressed girl out !! X

Dear rs@995x,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy and I am sorry to hear of the worrying time you are going through.

Ovarian cysts can be common and often occur during menstrual cycles.

I have added some NHS information here-

I am sure the doctor was just being overly cautious in informing y oh as it could be absolutely normal. Although I do not wish to alarm you, I do need to remind you to seek urgent medical advice with any pain or bleeding or you feel dizzy and unwell.

Please make sure you have a reassurance scan booked for 6 weeks and I am sending lots of positive thoughts,

Karen x
