I was overjoyed to find myself pregnant 3 months after tube removal for a ruptured ectopic (and miscarriage in Jan). My left tube was removed and only my left ovary works so I thought it would be impossible. So I’m 5 weeks by ovulation dates and I’m having twinges on the left side but I’ve had them since the op so I’m not sure if I’m being paranoid. I’m booked in for a scan on Thursday to rule it out again. Unfortunately the day before my holiday (booked to be away for the due date of the first miscarriage). Hopefully my luck is changing.
Has anyone had tube removal and had a successful pregnancy?
Ruptured ectopic and left tube removed October 2015 and I have just welcomed a beautiful baby girl! I was so lucky to be pregnant one cycle after my ectopic.
I felt a lot more twinges this time around, ectopic surgery makes you more sensitive in the area I believe! And the twinges are on your left side where there is no tube, everything will be stretching and expanding already and you might have some adhesions from tube removal.
Congratulations and relax and enjoy your bfp and pregnancy, it goes so quick!
It doesn’t look good… I’m only 5 weeks tho but due to travel on Saturday so they’ve fit me in early.
They found something in the womb but not sure it was a gestational sac or a pseudo sac, but hcg was 5034 so rescan tomorrow to see if the potential sac has grown by 1mm.
Please update when you know results of the scan. All you can do for now is think positive.
I remember my first scan at 6 weeks there was a sac but no fetal pole I had a second scan at 8 weeks (the longest 2 weeks of my life) and the fetal pole was visible and I just cried my eyes out.
Hoping that because you are only 5 weeks it is just a little too early to see anything…
The scan yesterday showed a 4cm mass on the corner of my uterus and a pseudo gestational sac within. My hcg had almost doubled to 9300 in 24 hours so I was taken for surgery to investigate as the hcg was too high for methotrexate to be effective and can a have an opposite effect on cornual ectopics & cause rupture and haemorrhage. They found an ectopic pregnancy on the stump from where the left tube was remove. They removed the pregnancy and the corner of my uterus. It appears the egg/ pregnancy had been released from the left ovary travelled on its own into the uterus and got stuck at the stump. They sealed up the uterus at the corner so that cannot happen again. The remaining right tube is undamaged.
Unfortunately the op started off as keyhole but needed to be open so I’m in a lot of pain and staying again in hospital.
I’m heartbroken for my loss but trying to be hopeful knowing that another healthy pregnancy may still be possible.
Hi it’s been 6 weeks and 3 days since I post my baby and left tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. I have not started my period yet and have 4 positive pregnancy test every other day. I’m not sure if it’s possible or not that I may be pregnant. I’m very new to this sight sorry for posting on your question asking a question. I don’t know how to start a new one. My question is has anyone else had this issue and have any advice or know of its a possible pregnancy or not? Thank you in advanced.
I am so sorry for your loss big hugs and shared tears!
Please do try to stay positive as hard as that is, and don’t lose that hope, you still have one tube and I am proof that you only need one!
Please take care and allow yourself time to heal put your feet up and do as little as possible you will obviously need some time to heal physically after such significant surgery.
I had an eptopic in February and could have died the surgeon said as It had already ruptured and was internally bleeding. They removed my left tube but left my ovary in place. They said it may take a long time to conceive again and I’m 40 now so I thought it may not happen, but 3 months after my recovery and 2 full cycles I got a positive result. We just went on with everyday life and said if it happens it’s a blessing but if not then we have each other. Epau monitored me closely and was very good. When we went for the scan everything was in order and in the right place. she explained to us that our little miracle had travelled across from my left ovary to my right tube, and conceived from there, so miracles do happen and I’m now 13 weeks pregnant and listen to my bumps heartbeat moring and night. I’ve got my scan on Friday for screening and once I know everything is ok I can relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy. Make sure you take the 3 months for your body to recover. Xx
