Hi, just looking for some reassurance and support. I had a ectopic in August and had my left tube removed. I found out Nov 13th that I am pregnant again. At first I felt elated and very lucky it happened so quick. I’ll be 5 weeks on Monday and due to call the epu to book in for an early scan. I’ve had no spotting which is encouraging but the twinges are back. Started just on the left side and now on my right too. I feel so scared. Part of me is dreading an early scan as I don’t want bad news while the other part just wants to know if everything is ok.
Can anyone else who has got pregnant after ectopic let me know if you had the twinges in your stomach and if this is a worrying sign?
So sorry to hear of your ectopic but congratulations on the quick bfp
I had an EP in June with right tube removed and I am now 10w pregnant. When I first found out I was pregnant I had quite bad period type pains on and off for a few days and yes, twinges on both sides of my stomach too. I am still getting those twinges from time to time now. I asked this question to my OB and she it’s totally normal to have these twinges from time to time as the uterus is preparing to expand to grow the littleone over the next 9 months!
My main symptom in June was brown/black bleeding for 3w before I ruptured and really bad pain in my stomach/right hip and back. I would try and stay positive that you are not bleeding definitely but I would get yourself in for an early scan sometime in the 6th week just to make 100% sure little beany has snuggled into the right spot this time.
It sounds like your definitely on the right track - good luck and try and enjoy being pregnant! (I keep telling myself to do this everyday!)
Gd luck hope you get the news your after I’m now 4 months pregnant after having ectopic in January with right tube being removed like you when I found out I was having similar pains as to when I had ectopic I kept thinking the worst but then gad my scan and the lil bean was in right place it’s just waiting that does your head in but I’m sure you will be fine xx
Ah thank you so much for responding and making me feel positive. I am calling to book my early scan tomorrow and hopefully within a week or so I’ll have some good news. I am glad you both had your happy endings too. Xx
Hi, good to hear such positive stories. I too had ectopic in August with right tube removal. Just found out I am pregnant yesterday. I am finding it hard to be happy as so much worry and fear. Spoke to EPAU this morning who have booked me in for a scan at 6 weeks, they were lovely again.
Big worry is that the tube had partially ruptured at 5 weeks last time, guess its just a waiting game.
Good luck to all you ladies, I don’t know what I would do without this forum
Good news. I had a scan last week and it’s in the right place. Going back next week to check the heartbeat. I really thought once I knew it would be in the right place a lot of the anxiety would go but I’ve just moved on to the next thing. Worrying if there will be a heart beat. I guess all mums to be have the same worries though. Never realised how stressful pregnancy could be.
