Pregnant after ectopic

Hi,

I had my ectopic in September 2021, I had my right tube removed.

I found out yesterday I am 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant which I’m super excited about but so nervous to! I have a scan next weekend so not a long wait but each day I worry a little more. Today I had a small amount of brown discharge and I’ve been having some cramping pains and a pain in my foot (not sure if this is related or not) I was told by the EPU that it is normal to get cramps and discharge but it just reminds me of last time!

Hi Sophie92,

A whispered congratulations on your pregnancy. It’s very natural to feel anxious in pregnancies following our ectopic experiences. In these early days, as best as you can, please be kind to yourself and take time to relax. If you haven’t already, you can request an early scan from your EPU, from six weeks, which can help to provide some reassurance. No matter what, we are here for you anytime and for as long as you need.

With good wishes,

Michele
