Pregnant after ectopic and freaking out

So I found out today that I am pregnant after my ectopic and I am freaking out I have been cramping on and off for over a week I am scared it’s another ectopic iam one week less than I was when o found out about my ectopic and it’s 3 months to the day I found out I was pregnant with me ectopic…

Dear Kmw-89,

Whispered congratulations on your pregnancy,

After an ectopic pregnancy, finding we are pregnant again can be a mix of emotions and I can completely understand your feeling nervous. It is perfectly normal to feel scared after the ordeal you have endured. I also felt twinges and aches after my ectopic pregnancy, particularly when I next felt pregnant. My mind started racing and I was only really able to relax to some degree after my early scan. It is a nerve-wracking time and you have a friend here who understands how you are feeling.

Speaking from UK medical practice and standards, usually doctors carry out an internal transvaginal scan at around six weeks with subsequent pregnancies after an ectopic. This is because there is a reasonable chance of seeing an embryo around this six week mark. We advise contacting your local EPU, reminding them of your ectopic pregnancy and booking an appointment. If you are unable to self refer, contact your GP who will be able to do this for you.

Whilst I do not wish to alarm you, If you are concerned about your discomfort, or it worsens, you experience any unusual bleeding, abdominal pain, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell, please seek urgent medical advice.

Sending much love and positive thoughts,

Karen x

Thankyou Karen I haven’t told anyone at all not even my partner I can’t face it at the moment… I have been having pinch feelings and my side where I had my last ectopic is very achey that what is making me worry I have contacted my gp they did an urgent referral today so the EPU can get in touch with an app these next 2 weeks will be tough is there anything I should be looking out for other than bleeding x

I am in exactly the same situation. I found out i was pregnant yesterday, exactly 10 weeks after my ectopic. However i didnt have a tube removed, it was on my ovary so i had surgery to remove the tissue.

Any little thing now i am over thinking. I called the EPU and they have arranged a scan for me at 6 weeks so i hope they do the same for you.

I dont feel pregnant at all, my boobs havent grown/hurt so i am also thinking the worse.

Good Luck, i hope you are okay.

Thankyou have a scan on Tuesday I believe iam having ectopic I have no pain or bleeding just an achy arm and flushed cheeks and heavy eyes like I could sleep for England I really wish hospitals would change the way ectopic pregnancy women are treated we get left to wait and suffer which is not good for mental health I feel so low I can’t believe it’s potentially happening again x

I have only just seen this. How did your scan go?

Thinking of you
